Frequently Asked Questions

What types of regulatory sources does Carver RegWatch support?

Carver monitors 1,000+ regulatory institutions worldwide — national agencies, international standard-setting bodies, enforcement agencies, and official publications — across categories including Finance, Data Protection & Cybersecurity, Medical Devices, Healthcare, AI, and more.

How current is the content?

New regulatory content typically appears in your Signals feed within 24 hours of publication from the source institution.

What's the difference between V1 and V2 API?

V1 uses X-API-Key authentication and is designed for server-to-server integrations. V2 uses Firebase JWT tokens and is designed for user-facing applications with per-user access control. See Authentication for details.

Is there rate limiting?

Yes. The API enforces rate limits to ensure platform stability — 50 requests/second for general endpoints. The Python SDK handles rate limit retries automatically. Contact your administrator for your organization's tier details.

How accurate are the AI summaries and relevance scores?

Summaries are generated from the original source text. Relevance scores (0–10) are calculated based on your Context — the more specific your Business Profile and Regulatory Focus Areas, the more accurate the scoring. Always verify important regulatory details against the original source.

How do roles work?

Each user can be assigned one or more roles by their organization administrator. A role defines a regulatory focus (e.g., "AI & Data Consultant") and a set of subscribed sources. Switching roles changes which signals appear on your Dashboard and which reports are generated for you.
